Like most database platforms, SQL skills are required for executing queries against the database. SAP IQ allows you to develop applications in many different programming environments, and provides database access drivers for ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, Perl, Python, and Ruby. SAP IQ also has a web services capability, so if you want to deploy web services to integrate with IQ you may. SAP IQ has an extensibility framework, and you can embed custom C, C++, and Java functions in the database, and invoke them from SQL. SAP IQ is an open platform, and works with any 3rd party BI and ETL tool that can access databases through the APIs listed above. You can also build Big Data applications using Hadoop, and perform federated queries from SAP IQ to Hadoop using Java.
